Rebecca Keyser

Rebecca Keyser lives and works in Dunbeacon, Durrus Co. Cork. The use of the figure, and an exploration of movement and light are longstanding themes running throughout her art practice. Having been working as an artist for many years, she graduated from the BA in Visual Art on Sherkin Island with Dublin Institute of Technology in 2010, showing an installation of digital projection for her final show. Her continuing commitment to the discipline of life drawing since graduation has resulted in the figure- based work produced for this exhibition. She uses materials to explore the boundaries of physical presence. Deliberately leaving traces of residual imagery, a kind of history is left visible in the work, a thinning of the veil between what is seen and that which is felt.

Rebecca also works as a facilitating artist with mental health service users in West Cork.
